Love is in the Air but so is your Purpose

Dear Firebrand Generation,

I

t’s February, and you know what that means love is in the air, and so are endless engagement announcements, matching pajamas, and candlelit dinners filling your feed. For the single crowd, it can feel like every scroll is a gentle reminder of what you don’t have. Suddenly, it seems like everyone else has a Valentine, while you’re out here trying to convince yourself that your purpose is enough.

And let’s be real it’s normal to feel a little bit of comparison creep in. It’s okay to wish you had someone to share this season with. But here’s the thing: while love may be in the air, so is something far greater your purpose. And if you’re not careful, all the “love stuff” can distract you from what really matters.

A Tale of Two Scrolls

A few Valentine’s Days ago, I opened my phone, and my feed was overflowing with romantic milestones. Engagement photos, anniversary captions, and “God sent me my soulmate” posts seemed to be everywhere.

At first, I thought, “That’s so sweet! But as I kept scrolling, comparison started whispering: “Why not me? What’s wrong with me? Did God forget about me?”

That year, I had a choice to make. I could let comparison take root, or I could use that season to press into God and focus on what He wanted to do in my life. I decided to ask a different question: What is God teaching me in this waiting season?

What I learned was life-changing: your waiting season isn’t wasted it’s where God shapes you, grows you, and prepares you for something greater than you could imagine.

The Waiting Season Is Like a Garden

Think of your waiting season like planting a garden. When you sow seeds, nothing seems to happen right away. But beneath the surface, the roots are growing deeper, the soil is nourishing the seed, and something beautiful is taking shape.

In the same way, your waiting season is a time for preparation. God is building your foundation, deepening your faith, and refining your character so that, when the time is right, you’ll bloom in ways you never thought possible.

Truths to Hold On To in Your Waiting Season

While love is in the air, remember these unshakable truths:

  • God’s timing is always perfect (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
  • You are not forgotten—He sees you (Isaiah 49:15-16)
  • Waiting is part of God’s preparation for your purpose (James 1:4).
  • Your worth isn’t tied to your relationship status (Colossians 2:10).

These truths anchor you when comparison creeps in and remind you that your purpose is greater than the opinions of others or a social media highlight reel.

Practical Steps to Stay Focused in Your Waiting Season

1. Curate Your Feed for Growth
Unfollow accounts that stir envy or discouragement, and replace them with faith-filled, inspiring content. Fill your feed with reminders of God’s love and truth.

2. Invest in Yourself
Use this season to grow spiritually, emotionally, and personally. Dive deeper into Scripture, start a passion project, or develop a skill that aligns with your calling.

3. Celebrate Others Without Comparing
When you see engagement posts or romantic milestones, celebrate those moments as evidence of God’s faithfulness. What He’s done for them, He can do for you—in His timing.

4. Show Love to Others
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about romantic love. Use it as an opportunity to bless others—write an encouraging note to a friend, serve your community, or remind someone else of their worth.

5. Seek God Daily
Make prayer, worship, and Scripture a non-negotiable part of your routine. When you stay connected to God, your focus shifts from what you lack to all He’s doing in your life.

Reflective Questions

Take a moment to reflect on your waiting season:

  • What is one area of your life where God might be asking you to trust Him more?
  • How can you use this time to grow closer to Him or pursue your purpose?
  • What’s one way you can bless someone else during this season?
A Bold Affirmation

You are not waiting in vain. You are being shaped, strengthened, and prepared for a purpose greater than you can imagine. Keep your eyes on God, and know this: your waiting is sacred, and your purpose is worth it.

God’s Faithfulness in the Waiting

Dear firebrand, God hasn’t forgotten you. His timing is perfect, and His plans for you are good. While you’re waiting for the love story He’s writing, He’s busy refining your heart, preparing your purpose, and drawing you closer to Him.

Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Waiting isn’t passive, it’s an active process of trusting, growing, and staying focused on the One who holds your future.

A Prayer for the Firebrand Generation

We thank You for the waiting seasons, even when they feel long or uncertain. Help us to shift our focus from comparison to calling, and remind us that Your plans are always good.

Teach us to use this time to grow closer to You, to refine our character, and to walk boldly in our purpose. Guard our hearts from discouragement and comparison, and fill us with the peace that comes from trusting in Your perfect timing.

Raise up a firebrand generation, confident in their identity and anchored in their calling. May we reflect Your love and light in every season. In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Amen.

A NEWSLETTER TO THE FIREBRAND GENERATION

What it means to be a firebrand.

Dear Firebrand Generation,

W

elcome to a brand-new year filled with purpose, opportunities, and divine possibilities! This is not just another year it’s a pivotal moment for us to rise, build, and shine like never before. Together, we are stepping into extraordinary days of influence, impact, and growth. This is the year to dream bigger, believe stronger, and move boldly in the power and purpose of God.

We are the Firebrand Generation those marked by God to ignite transformation in the world. Being a firebrand means embracing a paradigm shift in how we see our purpose and influence.

It’s not just about ministry within the four walls of a church but about dominating in the seven mountains of influence: Family, Religion, Education, Government, Media, Arts & Entertainment, and Business.

This generation is called to be a force of transformation in these arenas, bringing the light of God’s Kingdom into every sphere. We are trailblazers who shine the brilliance of God’s wisdom, power, and love in the places where culture, leadership, and decisions are shaped.

The Paradigm Shift: Firebrands for Transformation

To be a firebrand is to understand that our calling is not confined to religious spaces. The Dominion Mandate given in Genesis 1:28 says:

“Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion…”

This command is a call to influence, rule, and shape the earth according to God’s will. It means creating, innovating, and leading in every sphere of society. This paradigm shift challenges us to move from the mindset of separating ministry from work, influence, or wealth.

Instead, we see our careers, businesses, and creative ventures as Kingdom platforms, places where God’s power, wisdom, and excellence can shine.

The Firebrand Generation recognizes that dominance in the Seven Mountains of Influence is critical to shaping culture and advancing God’s Kingdom on earth.

Dominance on the Seven Mountains of Influence

God has positioned us as firebrands to dominate and influence these cultural pillars:

1. Family: Building strong families rooted in Kingdom values is foundational. Firebrands shape the next generation through intentional parenting, marriage, and mentorship.

2. Religion: As spiritual leaders and followers of Christ, firebrands restore truth, righteousness, and integrity to the body of Christ and represent His love to the world.

3. Education: In classrooms and institutions, firebrands raise a standard of truth, fostering wisdom and moral leadership for future generations.

4. Government: We need firebrands who bring God’s justice, wisdom, and integrity into policymaking and leadership.

5. Media: Firebrands dominate this sphere by shaping narratives that reflect truth, hope, and inspiration instead of fear and division.

6. Arts & Entertainment: Creativity is a powerful tool for influence. Firebrands use it to tell stories, create art, and produce content that glorifies God and transforms culture.

7. Business: Through wealth creation, innovation, and leadership, firebrands demonstrate excellence, integrity, and generosity, using resources to fund Kingdom initiatives and uplift communities.

Each of these mountains is a platform for dominion and transformation places where firebrands can shine their light and influence society for God’s glory.

Building Kingdom Wealth For Impact

As firebrands, we understand that wealth is a tool for advancing the Kingdom of God. Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us:

“But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth…”

Dominance in the business and economic sphere is key to influencing the Seven Mountains. When firebrands build Kingdom wealth, they:

  •       Fund missions, ministries, and initiatives that expand God’s Kingdom.
  •       Serve and uplift communities through generosity and resources.
  •       Create businesses that reflect excellence and godly values, impacting employees, clients, and industries.

Wealth is not an end goal; it is the means by which we create impact, advance the Gospel, and leave a legacy of transformation.

Shinning in Every Sphere

As firebrands, we understand that wealth is a tool for advancing the Kingdom of God. Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us:

“But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth…”

Dominance in the business and economic sphere is key to influencing the Seven Mountains. When firebrands build Kingdom wealth, they:

  •       Fund missions, ministries, and initiatives that expand God’s Kingdom.

A Prayer for the Firebrand Generation

We thank You for calling us to be the Firebrand Generation, a people set apart to dominate the Seven Mountains of Influence. Empower us with boldness, wisdom, and creativity to shine in every sphere of culture. Help us to embrace the paradigm shift of seeing our careers, businesses, and platforms as places for ministry and transformation.

Anoint us to generate Kingdom wealth, serve with compassion, and create lasting impact for Your glory. Strengthen our hands to build, our minds to innovate, and our spirits to lead with integrity. Let our lives bring glory to You as we bring Your Kingdom to earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
